Are there any special plumming requirements for a wet room?

There are technically no pluming requirements when installing a wetroom. However we recommend that the waste outlet should be a top accessed, trapped unit with a constant flow rate in excess of the output of the shower running at full capacity. Also required is the slope to falls, which is the required incline in the floor that runs from the edges of the designated wet area to the waste outlet. The minimum recommended fall is 15mm and the maximum recommended ratio is 85:1, i.e. for every 85mm incline travel towards the waste outlet the floor level will fall 1mm. This can be very difficult to create, however you can purchase Shower Tray Formers which have the required slope to falls already built in.

To see our wide range of Shower Tray Formers follow the link to our Wet Room website or give us a call on 01387 270252.
